This part-time position at The Westin Irving Convention Center involves a blend of customer service, food and beverage preparation, and operational duties within the hotel's food and beverage and culinary department. The role is designed for individuals who are motivated by delivering outstanding guest experiences while ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the coffee cart and attendant services. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining work areas, managing orders through the MICROS cash register system, preparing food and coffee beverages, and performing opening and closing duties such as cleaning, stocking supplies, and securing the work area.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating coffee machines and other relevant appliances, handling cash transactions accurately, and ensuring cleanliness and order in their work environment throughout the shift. Additionally, the role calls for adherence to safety and security protocols, the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and colleagues, and a collaborative mindset to support team goals. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds, which requires stamina and coordination.

Job Duties

  • complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools cleaning all equipment and areas locking doors etc
  • set up stock and maintain work areas
  • input orders into cash register system and collect payment from customer
  • take orders record in MICROS system and prepare food and coffee beverages
  • ensure that appliances eg coffee makers are turned on off at appropriate times
  • bus coffee cart areas and tables
  • clean dishes utensils work areas tables and equipment throughout the day
