The Barista role at the Ala Moana Hotel is within the prestigious Starbucks department, known for its specialty coffee and exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for those passionate about coffee culture and who thrive in fast-paced, customer-facing environments. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages including specialty coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and teas. In addition to beverage preparation, the role includes serving food items such as sandwiches, salads, and baked goods including muffins, scones, and croissants. A key component of the role is delivering legendary customer service by putting customers first, engaging with them to understand their needs, and creating a positive, welcoming environment often described as the "Third Place" beyond home and work.

This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team to maintain operational excellence and meet the high standards of Starbucks and Ala Moana Hotel. The Barista must also be adept at maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, handling cash and payments accurately, managing inventory and stock, and contributing to product displays and promotions. Critical to the role is following health and safety guidelines and upholding Starbucks operational policies to ensure a safe and pleasant workplace for customers and colleagues alike. The salary for this position ranges from $27.55 to $34.44 per hour, based on experience, knowledge, and skills, complemented by a competitive benefits package.
