Job Description
The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Coffee Shops at Fort Bragg, NC, operate as part of the Army Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Employee Program. These coffee shops provide essential services to soldiers, military families, and civilian personnel stationed or visiting Fort Bragg. Job Requirements
- Direct deposit and social security card is required
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
- A one year probationary period may be required
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, to include a Tier 1 Investigation and physical
- Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds
- Stands for prolonged periods and work is primarily indoors
- Exposed to burns from hot steams and liquids
- Could be exposed to cuts
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually
- Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split-shifts
Job Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory
- Skill in mixing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks
- Experience utilizing a commercial espresso machine
- Ability to cross train and monitor the work of other staff
Job Duties
- Operates a small full-service coffee shop, preparing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks
- Operates coffee shop machinery to include commercial espresso machine
- Prepares and serves simple food items
- Records sales, takes customer payments for goods by operating a cash register, balances cash drawer at the end of the day
- Cross trains other staff members on full service of the coffee shop
- Maintains clean and sanitary work area, utensils, equipment and coffee bar
