Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is a premier aquatic facility renowned for its commitment to education, conservation, and immersive experiences. Located in Draper, Utah, the Aquarium opened its state-of-the-art facility in March 2014 and has since welcomed over eight million visitors. It provides a unique opportunity to experience the biodiversity of aquatic ecosystems, featuring nearly 5,000 animals across more than 600 species, alongside 600 plant species. The LLPA showcases diverse global aquatic environments including kelp forests, coral reefs, deep ocean habitats, Antarctic waters, Asian cloud forests, South American rainforests, and local Utah waterways. This makes it an exceptional resource for both education and recreation, offering programs tailored for all ages and interests, from casual visitors to dedicated students.

The Aquarium collaborates with popular brands such as Starbucks to enhance the visitor experience. They operate a specialty coffee bar within the Aquarium where customers can enjoy freshly prepared specialty coffee drinks served on the rocks. The Barista role at Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is an hourly, part-time position focused on delivering excellent customer service by preparing and serving beverages and light food items according to established brand and customer specifications. Essential duties include greeting visitors, taking and processing orders, maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of the workstation, and ensuring a positive guest experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Utah Food Handlers card required
  • Previous experience as a barista or in a related role preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs
  • Availability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Willingness to work outdoors and use uniforms or PPE as required

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous experience as a barista or in a related position preferred
  • Utah Food Handlers card required
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 25 lbs occasionally

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and takes orders, processes cash and credit card transactions
  • Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages according to brand specifications and customers requests
  • Serves prepared food items including ice cream
  • Maintains knowledge of menu items and recipes to effectively service the customer
  • Sets up and breaks down workstations, including cleaning and sanitizing all equipment
  • Maintains appearance of location ensuring product is stocked to appropriate levels and all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Maintains excellent customer service, anticipating guests needs
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation
  • Maintains a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
