Sodexo's Barista II position is based at UT Health Tyler, with a focus on delivering high-quality handcrafted beverages, excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This full-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $14.50 to $15.70 and includes varying morning shifts with rotating weekends. As a Barista II, you will be an artist and champion of fair trade, responsible for preparing premium beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, chai, and fruit smoothies. Your role extends beyond beverage preparation – you will engage with customers to create positive experiences, operate cash registers accurately, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of work areas, including equipment and restaurant spaces. You will be expected to attend scheduled shifts punctually and collaborate effectively with your team to uphold a healthy and productive work atmosphere. The position requires adaptability and reliability, and prior experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation, and inventory control is preferred. Some locations require Starbucks Barista certification. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or food preparation preferred
- ability to operate cash registers and handle payments
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- willingness to work varying morning shifts, including rotating weekends
- reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in customer service preferred
- experience in food preparation and sanitation preferred
- familiarity with inventory control
- Starbucks Barista certification in some locations
Job Duties
- Greet customers and take orders
- prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, chai, and fruit smoothies
- operate cash registers and process payments by cash, credit, or electronic means
- clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, bathrooms, and preparation zones
- arrive on time and maintain consistent attendance for scheduled shifts
- perform additional tasks as assigned based on business needs and client requirements
