The Barista I position at Sodexo, located at New York Presbyterian Queens, offers a part-time opportunity with a pay rate of $17.25 per hour. This role is ideally suited for individuals passionate about coffee culture and delivering outstanding customer service. Working morning shifts with varying days and rotating weekends, the Barista will be integral to creating a welcoming atmosphere where customers can enjoy hand-crafted, high-quality beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, cafe lattes, teas, and specialty fruit blend drinks. As a Barista I, you will be responsible for operating cash registers, processing different forms of payment including cash, credit, and electronic methods, and maintaining impeccably clean workstations, coffee machines, preparation spaces, and customer areas. Attending all scheduled shifts punctually and reliably is critical to the role, alongside adaptability and teamwork in a dynamic environment. While prior experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, allowing for those new to the coffee or food service industry to learn and develop relevant skills with the support of ongoing training and development opportunities.

Job Requirements

- Ability to attend scheduled shifts punctually and regularly

- Starbucks Barista certification may be necessary at some locations

Job Duties
- Greet customers, take orders, mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks
- Record all sales, collect cash/credit card/electronic payments and operate a cash register
- Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
