The full-time Barista position at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, offers an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team that transforms everyday moments into meaningful experiences through quality coffee and food service. The role is based on a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, paying between $15.00 and $15.50 per hour. As a Barista, you will play a key role in preparing and serving premium espresso-based beverages and related food items, following strict safety and hygiene standards guided by HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) protocols. This position requires a friendly and courteous demeanor for customer interactions and involves maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide variety of tasks from preparing drinks using standardized recipes to handling point-of-sale transactions, replenishing supplies, and maintaining excellent food presentation. Attention to detail in portion control, temperature management, and sanitation is essential. The role demands collaboration with team members and effective communication to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient service flow. Job Requirements

Prior barista experience is preferred
Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle equipment safely
Strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
Must be able to interact courteously with customers and coworkers
Willingness to follow HACCP food safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior barista experience preferred
Ability to follow standard recipes and procedures
Strong customer service skills
Basic math and cash handling skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

Job Duties

Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
Enters orders accurately into POS device
accepts cash and charge payments
Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
follows HACCP standards
Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
Relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
Serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines
Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
Serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
Ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
Serves food neatly and attractively per standard
Performs other duties as assigned
