The full-time Barista position at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, offers an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team that transforms everyday moments into meaningful experiences through quality coffee and food service. The role is based on a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, paying between $15.00 and $15.50 per hour. As a Barista, you will play a key role in preparing and serving premium espresso-based beverages and related food items, following strict safety and hygiene standards guided by HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) protocols. This position requires a friendly and courteous demeanor for customer interactions and involves maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide variety of tasks from preparing drinks using standardized recipes to handling point-of-sale transactions, replenishing supplies, and maintaining excellent food presentation. Attention to detail in portion control, temperature management, and sanitation is essential. Job Requirements
- Prior barista experience is preferred
- Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Must be able to interact courteously with customers and coworkers
- Willingness to follow HACCP food safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior barista experience preferred
- Ability to follow standard recipes and procedures
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic math and cash handling skills

- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Job Duties
- Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
- Enters orders accurately into POS device
- accepts cash and charge payments
- Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- follows HACCP standards
- Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
- Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
- Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- Relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
- Serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
- Serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
- Ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
- Serves food neatly and attractively per standard
- Performs other duties as assigned
