Job Description
Lyric at RidgeGate is a vibrant and eclectic community developed by Shea Homes, situated in South Metro Denver, Colorado. This unique residential community is designed to integrate the comforts of modern living with the beauty of nature, offering its residents an inviting environment full of amenities and social spaces. At the heart of Lyric, residents have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, a cozy coffee house, and a signature restaurant, creating a dynamic hub for social and recreational enjoyment. Alongside these features, there are extensive facilities for swimming, lounging, and mingling, all contributing to an active and engaging neighborhood lifestyle.
Lyric at RidgeGate is committed to fostering a welcoming atmosphere not only to residents but also to team members who contribute to the vibrancy of the community. Within this context, the role of a Barista is vital in delivering excellent customer service and memorable coffee experiences at the community’s coffee house. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of 16 dollars per hour plus tips. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy working in a lively and engaging environment, and are eager to connect with residents and guests.
The Barista position involves preparing and selling a variety of coffee drinks such as espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, adhering to standard recipes and preparation techniques to ensure quality and consistency. The role requires a blend of technical skills in beverage preparation and interpersonal skills to greet and serve guests in a friendly and energetic manner. The Barista works closely with the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager and the Food & Beverage Supervisor to maintain high-quality service, efficient operations, and a clean and safe work environment.
This job demands a high level of customer orientation and responsiveness, strong team-building abilities, and a positive attitude. Team members are expected to uphold the core values of BlueStar—which include honesty, integrity, respect for the individual, teamwork, and competitive spirit—while delivering exceptional service and contributing to a supportive workplace culture.
Team members working 30 or more hours weekly are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and life insurance plans after 60 days of employment. Additionally, full-time employees accrue paid time off at a rate of 120 hours annually and receive seven paid holidays each year. Part-time staff can accrue paid sick leave according to state guidelines. All employees aged 21 and over may join the company’s 401(k) plan after 30 days of service. The work environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor settings, where staff frequently interact with guests, use coffee beverage equipment, and occasionally work in weather-exposed areas. This role is physically active, requiring standing, walking, and handling items up to 20 pounds.
In summary, the Barista role at Lyric at RidgeGate is more than just serving coffee; it’s about creating warm connections, enhancing the community experience, and maintaining the high standards of hospitality that the residents and guests expect. This position offers a stable full-time employment opportunity with benefits, making it ideal for those seeking a fulfilling career in the food and beverage industry within an innovative and welcoming community setting.
