Job Description
Peet's Coffee is a renowned specialty coffee roaster and retailer that has been passionately serving coffee lovers since 1966. Known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and community, Peet's Coffee has carved out a distinct place in the coffee industry by sourcing the finest beans and crafting deeply flavorful coffee experiences. The company operates cafes across various locations and is recognized for its dedication to creating exceptional coffee and fostering authentic connections with customers. Employees at Peet's enjoy working in an inclusive environment that values collaboration, authenticity, and continuous growth, where everyone’s contribution helps shape the company culture and customer experience.
Peet's Coffee is currently inviting energetic and passionate individuals to join their team as Baristas. This role is ideal for those who are curious, authentic, and passionate about coffee, customers, and striving for excellence in every cup they serve. Baristas at Peet's act as the frontline ambassadors of the brand, ensuring every guest receives exceptional service and a beverage experience that meets Peet’s high standards for taste, appearance, and consistency. Beyond crafting coffee, the Barista contributes to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere by supporting coworkers and operations with initiative and enthusiasm.
This position offers competitive pay, with a range of $20.25 to $20.75 per hour, plus additional earnings from cash and electronic tips estimated between $3.00 to $6.00 per hour, which will vary based on local wage requirements, geographic location, and market factors. Peet's provides a robust benefits package for part-time employees working 21 hours or more per week, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, paid vacation accrued after four months of employment, a 401k plan with generous employer matching (available to employees 18 years or older), and various employee assistance programs. Furthermore, Peet's supports career advancement through tuition scholarships with Oregon State University E Campus, encouraging baristas to grow their careers alongside the company.
Peet’s Coffee promotes purposeful work by partnering with the nonprofit Enveritas to improve conditions in coffee-growing communities worldwide. This commitment reflects the company’s broader mission to positively impact the environment and the people behind the coffee supply chain. The Barista role is more than just serving coffee — it’s about crafting lasting community connections and championing this higher purpose.
Working at Peet’s means maintaining a flexible part-time schedule that meets both employee and business needs, often requiring availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. The position requires performing various physical tasks during shifts and upholding Peet’s standards for cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment. Overall, Peet’s Coffee offers a vibrant work culture with meaningful work, opportunities for personal and professional growth, and benefits that support employees’ wellbeing and financial future. Joining Peet’s as a Barista provides a unique chance to blend passion for coffee with a flourishing career path in an inclusive and supportive workplace.
