Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or extended hours as needed
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or related field preferred
  • Culinary certifications or combination of four years of training and years of experience directly related to managing a food service operation preferred
  • Two years of experience in food service planning, food preparation, staffing, and operational execution preferred
  • One year of experience using a food service software solution for food management, planning, ordering, inventorying, and reporting preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational needs
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations

Job Duties

  • Support daily operations for the Emporium through appropriately utilizing resources and adapting to daily operational changes
  • Support the implementation and operation of an efficient and self-sustaining campus dining and food/beverage retail program
  • Perform, monitor, and support inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Prepare food, drinks, cook, stock marketplace, provide customer service and adapt to daily operational needs
  • Ensure all food preparation and operations are conducted in a clean, organized, and sanitary environment and in compliance with policy and regulation
  • Support and promote a culture of exceptional quality and customer service
  • Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise systems including food ordering/inventorying, cash/credit card sales, and customer tracking
  • Foster a warm and welcoming dining and retail environment that supports and enhances a dynamic sense of community
  • Conduct all operations with a culture of safety, safe food preparation and handling, and compliance with all local, county, state, and federal regulations
  • Monitor equipment and facility for safety, maintenance, and repair, and notify appropriate campus departments as needed
  • Support other team members within their applicable area of responsibility during high facility utilization, including food prep, stocking, cleaning, and inventory management
