Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for 4-8 hour shifts and move about the shop
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and forearms
- Ability to detect and perceive the smells of coffee
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and team members
- Ability to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Job Duties
- Greet all customers and visitors with a friendly smile
- Provide friendly, efficient, and personal service to each guest and visitor
- Create a rapport with customers by learning their names and favorite drinks
- Educate guests on all of our products and services
- Maintain high quality and consistent product standards
- Strive for the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Accurately process transactions in the POS system
- Taste coffee regularly to maintain familiarity with product and quality standards
- Dial-in espresso equipment in accordance with quality standards and directives
- Stay informed of new coffee availability and attributes - from batch to retail offerings
- Provide coffee and product feedback to managers and the Commonplace Coffee roasting team
- Batch and restock items as necessary to keep the shop functioning optimally
- Arrive on time executing effective shifts that set fellow employees up for success
- Maintain a clean and welcoming shop for all guests and fellow employees
- Communicate with team members and management to solve problems, create new opportunities, and improve service
- Support a positive work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by shop manager and supervisors
- Work with Northland Public Library staff to ensure that their guests are provided hospitality first service and highly executed Commonplace products and services
