Job Description
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, a distinguished part of Marriott International, is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry with a rich history dating back to 1937. As a premium hotel brand, Sheraton prides itself on creating welcoming environments and memorable experiences for guests in over 400 communities worldwide. Renowned for its commitment to quality service, inclusivity, and cultural richness, Sheraton is more than just a place to stay — it is a place to gather, connect, and belong. The brand's mission is to be 'The World's Gathering Place,' fostering a sense of community among guests and associates alike. By joining Sheraton, employees become part of a large, diverse portfolio of Marriott International brands, benefiting from extensive resources and opportunities in the global hospitality field.
The role available at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is a frontline position involving a wide range of operational and customer service responsibilities that contribute significantly to daily hotel functions. The position entails performing opening and closing duties essential to maintaining smooth operations, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment, stocking work areas, and ensuring security through locking doors. Employees are responsible for handling customer orders efficiently using the MICROS system, preparing food and coffee beverages to meet quality standards, and managing cash register transactions accurately. Key operational tasks include bussing tables and coffee cart areas, cleaning dishes and utensils throughout the shift, and securing the cash bank at the end of the day while resolving any discrepancies.
In addition to operational duties, this role emphasizes strict adherence to company safety and security policies. Employees must report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries promptly, and complete required safety training and certifications to uphold a safe working environment. Maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information is a priority, alongside protecting company assets in every aspect of the job.
Guest interaction is a vital part of this position. Employees are expected to welcome guests courteously, anticipate their service needs proficiently, and display genuine appreciation in all guest communications. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members fosters a positive, team-oriented work environment. This role demands physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects up to 25 pounds, along with navigating various spatial challenges such as confined, elevated, or narrow spaces.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with no prior work or supervisory experience required, making it an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to start a hospitality career. Sheraton values diversity and inclusion, promoting equality and opportunity for all associates regardless of background or protected status. Joining Sheraton means becoming part of a globally respected brand where dedication and teamwork are rewarded, and where associates can grow both personally and professionally while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
