Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Prior food service and customer service experience
  • Completion of all education, licenses, training, and certifications at time of hire
  • Ability to work various shifts and communicate availability
  • Commitment to safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work in noisy, hot, and cold kitchen environment
  • Physical stamina to handle minor hazards including cuts and burns
  • Availability to undergo FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services Registry Search for certain roles
  • Adherence to OSHA, HACCP, and company policies
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to shift priorities in fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Familiarity with coffee brewing and beverage preparation equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Assists the dietitian with patient data collection, nutrition screening, and modified menu planning
  • Maintains a courteous, professional relationship with all organizational staff, patients, families, and guests
  • Sets up and dismantles assigned station/work area to guarantee smooth operations
  • Accurately take customer orders including all preferences
  • Prepares quality beverages (brewed coffee and blended drinks) and serves bakery items by adhering to recipes and presentation standards
  • Follows CHKD’s operational policies and procedures including cash register operation, cash handling, and safety protocols
  • Maintains and cleans beverage machines
  • Sets up, replenishes, and dismantles cutlery, condiment areas, and paper product stations
  • Stores food following proper wrapping, dating, safety, storage, and rotation procedures
  • Maintains merchandising in-service areas
  • Works on serving line, dishroom duties including scrapping trays and sorting silverware when necessary
  • Maintains clean work and dining areas by sanitizing counters, tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment
  • Assists with catering events as required
  • Handles waste disposal and transportation to proper areas
  • Conducts work within HACCP guidelines and adheres to sanitation procedures
  • Complies with OSHA regulations and all company policies
  • Sustains records and documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Performs other duties as assigned and may cross-train for other department positions with instruction and guidance
