The Barista position at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is a key role within the Food & Beverage team, ideal for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding customer service in a lively cafe setting. The Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages using established recipes, ensuring every drink meets the resort’s standards for taste and presentation. Beyond beverage preparation, the role emphasizes fast, friendly, and personalized service to create memorable experiences for guests. The person in this role will engage with customers by taking orders accurately, educating them about product offerings, and handling minor concerns professionally. Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to handle guest concerns professionally
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of customer service barista or related food-handling experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Food Handlers Certification required within 30 days of hire and must remain current
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver attentive guest service
- Excellent multitasking time management and organizational abilities
- Capable of handling guest concerns professionally and proactively
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced cafe environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
Job Duties
- Provide fast friendly and personalized service to all customers
- Receive and call back customer orders clearly and accurately
- Educate customers on coffee tea specialty beverages and cafe offerings
- Answer phone calls courteously including directions orders and inquiries
- Perform accurate cash handling and operate the register properly
- Prepare and serve hot blended and iced beverages following recipes and standards
- Serve baked goods and other cafe items as needed
