We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our dynamic team. The Barista role is pivotal in ensuring our customers receive outstanding service and that each cup is crafted to perfection. This position is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, offering competitive hourly pay ranging from $17.00 to $17.50. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to our standard recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every order. Additionally, this role involves handlingPOS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process orders and payments efficiently.
Beyond beverage preparation, the Barista will maintain cleanliness and organization within the cafe9, including the upkeep of equipment, utensils, and seating areas to provide a pleasant environment for guests. Customer engagement is a key aspect of this role; the Barista will interact with customers to take accurate orders, handle cash transactions, and provide an inviting and positive experience that encourages repeat visits.
Safety and hygiene are paramount in our operations, requiring adherence to food safety standards during food preparation and handling. The Barista will also assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee, pastries, and supplies to ensure smooth daily operations. Working collaboratively with fellow team members, the Barista will contribute to fostering a positive and efficient work environment that upholds our commitment to excellence.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred
- Ability to operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
Job Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or strong coffee knowledge is preferred
- Proficient in using POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS)
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons
- Familiarity with food safety practices and food handling regulations
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions
- Experience in food preparation and service within the food industry is beneficial
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to standard recipes
- Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for order processing and payment handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe9 area, including equipment, utensils, and seating
- Engage with customers to provide excellent service, taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions and perform basic math calculations for sales
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards during food preparation and handling
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee, pastries, and supplies
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment
