This role is for a full-time Food and Beverage team member located at Sheraton's establishment in Phoenix, Arizona. The position is categorized under non-management and offers shifts during the day and evening, with an emphasis on open availability. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, engaging, and dedicated to providing excellent customer service while performing essential operational duties in a bustling food and beverage environment.

As a Food and Beverage team member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities, from opening and closing duties to engaging directly with guests. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining work areas, managing supplies, operating cash registers, and preparing food and coffee beverages. You will use the MICROS system to input orders and handle payments, ensuring that each guest’s experience is seamless and enjoyable. Additionally, you will maintain cleanliness standards by regularly cleaning dishes, utensils, workstations, and equipment.

Security and safety are paramount in this role. You will be responsible for adhering to all company safety policies, reporting any unsafe conditions or accidents, and completing required safety training and certifications. You must ensure that appliances such as coffee makers are operated correctly, turning them on and off as needed, and assist in handling cash management including obtaining change, balancing the cash bank, and securing receipts at shift end.

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, twisting, and navigating confined or elevated spaces. You will interact closely with guests, providing a welcoming environment, anticipating and addressing service needs, and assisting individuals with disabilities. Professionalism in appearance, communication, and confidentiality is expected to protect and uphold the company’s standards and assets.

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools
  • cleaning all equipment and areas
  • locking doors
  • set up, stock, and maintain work areas
  • input orders into cash register system and collect payment from customers
  • take orders and record in MICROS system
  • prepare food and coffee beverages
  • ensure appliances are turned on/off at appropriate times
  • bus coffee cart areas and tables
  • clean dishes, utensils, work areas, tables, and equipment throughout the day
  • obtain change required for expected business level
  • count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank
