The Barista role at Anchorage Airport under Avolta is a non-exempt position reporting to the General Manager, offering competitive compensation at $16.00 per hour. This role is crucial for ensuring that customers receive excellent service while enjoying high-quality beverages and food products in a certified coffee establishment. The Barista is responsible not only for taking orders and handling cash transactions but also for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and stocking of the store to meet brand standards. Exceptional customer service is emphasized, with baristas expected to greet guests warmly, offer menu recommendations, remember and use customer names, and thank guests, all contributing to a welcoming and personalized experience. The role requires adherence to strict operational procedures, including health, safety, and security guidelines, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of customer service experience, with preferred qualifications including prior work in high-volume coffee shops and cash handling experience. Strong communication skills and physical stamina to stand and perform repetitive motions for extended periods are essential for success in this role. Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • greet all guests with a smile and friendly disposition while taking food and beverage orders
  • answer questions about menu items and offer recommendations
  • call guests by name
  • thank them for their order before they leave
  • prepare and deliver quality beverages and food products consistently by adhering to recipe and presentation standards
  • operate a cash register and receive payment while following brand, customer service, and cash handling policies and procedures
  • keep the store clean, stocked, organized, and decorate customer display areas to meet brand standards
  • follow operational policies and procedures including those for health and safety and security
  • assist with cleaning, food preparation, seating customers, stocking, and maintaining inventory
