The current opening is for a part-time Barista position at the Capital One Cafe located at 11800 W Broad Street 1052, Henrico, VA 23233. This role is perfectly suited for individuals who enjoy engaging with customers and have a passion for coffee and foodservice. While prior barista experience is preferred, the company is open to training dedicated individuals who have strong customer service skills. This Barista role entails preparing and serving coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items with a focus on quality and presentation. Responsibilities will include preparing espresso orders using standard measures, entering orders accurately into a POS system, handling cash and charge payments, and maintaining stock levels of condiments and general supplies. Furthermore, the barista will maintain cleanliness of the service area and all equipment, ensuring a neat and orderly workstation.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as the barista will interact directly with customers, providing courteous service and assisting with menu selections by explaining daily offerings. Availability on weekends and Mondays is required, with the opportunity for flexible part-time scheduling.

- ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
- enters orders accurately into POS device
- accepts cash and charge payments
- replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
- keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
- greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
- serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines
- demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
- serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
- ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
- serves food neatly and attractively per standard
- performs other duties as assigned
