This job opening is for a full-time Barista position located at Fidelity Investments in Durham, North Carolina. The Barista role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing consistent and stable working hours with competitive pay ranging between $18.00 and $20.00 per hour. This position involves preparing and serving high-quality coffee and espresso drinks along with related food and beverage items, all in accordance with HACCP food safety standards. The Barista will be responsible for accurately taking orders through point of sale (POS) systems, handling cash and credit transactions, and ensuring that every beverage and food item served meets preset guidelines for presentation, portion control, and temperature. Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of product offerings are essential to recommend and prepare items that meet customer preferences. This role is customer-centric, requiring excellent communication skills and a cheerful, proactive attitude to foster a great customer experience and smooth service flow. Job Duties
- Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
- enters orders accurately into POS device
- accepts cash and charge payments
- replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- follows HACCP standards
- maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- ensures proper food preparation using approved recipes and production standards
- keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving
- greets customers courteously and interacts to ensure satisfaction
- relays relevant concerns to supervisors
- serves customers quickly and efficiently
- prevents delays in serving lines
- demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately
- advocates selling techniques by establishing good communication and assisting buying decisions
- ensures display foods are merchandised attractively and served neatly
- performs other duties as assigned
