The Barista role at Scooter's Coffee is vital in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the brand's high-quality standards. This position focuses on creating an inviting experience by providing fast, friendly service and consistent, well-crafted products. Baristas are responsible for greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and educating them about the company's offerings to enhance the customer's overall experience. The role includes suggestive selling of gift cards, complementary or additional products, and merchandise to drive sales and contribute to store performance.

Baristas manage sales transactions efficiently, following established cash handling procedures to maintain accuracy and security. They prepare and serve all orders following specific recipe and aesthetic guidelines and ensure products are delivered promptly within set service timeframes. Maintaining store equipment and cleanliness around customer and coworker areas is another crucial aspect of this role to ensure a safe and inviting environment. Baristas are also charged with optimizing workflow by restocking supplies and merchandise, helping the store run smoothly during busy periods. This role demands a dependable, energetic team player who thrives in a fast-paced setting, can adapt flexibly to changing needs, learn quickly, and handle multiple duties simultaneously.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in customer service or food and beverage industry preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and connect with each customer
  • welcome questions and seek opportunities to educate on our products
  • suggestively sell gift cards, complementary/additional products, and merchandise
  • solicit order, enter sale, and process payment in a timely and friendly fashion
  • manage cash drawer, following established cash handling procedures
  • serve all customer orders according to recipe and aesthetic guidelines
  • deliver products within established speed of service guidelines and identify drink upon delivery
  • operate and maintain cleanliness of all store equipment
  • optimize workflow efficiency by restocking workstations, food, supplies, and merchandise
  • maintain cleanliness of coworker and customer areas
