Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffee industry, renowned for crafting the world's finest coffee and creating meaningful moments for its customers and partners alike. Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Starbucks has become a staple in daily routines worldwide by offering not just premium coffee but also a warm and welcoming environment where people connect over their favorite beverages. As a company, Starbucks is deeply committed to fostering community, inclusivity, and sustainability, making it a favored destination not just for coffee lovers but also for those who value corporate responsibility and ethical business practices. Starbucks operates thousands of locations across the globe, continually innovating in its product offerings and enhancing customer experience through quality, service, and atmosphere. Working at Starbucks means becoming part of a dynamic team that values growth, learning, and mutual respect.

The role being offered is that of a Starbucks Barista, a pivotal position within the store that is more than just making coffee. This entry-level opportunity invites individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy engaging with people, and take pride in crafting high-quality beverages and food products. No prior experience is required, making it perfect for candidates looking to start their career journey. The barista plays an essential role in ensuring a positive customer experience by preparing drinks to standard or customized recipes, engaging with customers to understand their needs, and maintaining store standards, safety, and security. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays, reflecting the company’s commitment to serving customers whenever they want their coffee. Beyond the duties of making beverages and food, baristas are also expected to contribute to a collaborative team environment, helping to create a welcoming and friendly space for every guest.

Starbucks invests significantly in the development and well-being of its partners (employees). The company offers comprehensive and industry-leading benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance options, paid parental leave, and paid time off that accrues based on hours worked. Partners have opportunities for career advancement through ongoing training and professional development resources. Educational benefits feature prominently with 100% tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan in partnership with Arizona State University, as well as student loan management resources. Additionally, financial well-being is supported via a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, a discounted company stock program, emergency savings incentives, and various tools for financial management. Starbucks is committed to equality and inclusion, providing accommodations for applicants with disabilities and ensuring fair hiring practices without discrimination. Each new partner typically begins at the entry point of the compensation range based on geographic location, with decisions tailored individually. In joining Starbucks as a barista, one becomes part of a community that celebrates connection, learning, and personal growth, alongside serving some of the world’s best coffee and memorable customer experiences.
