The Barista role at HHM Hotels is an integral part of the guest service team, focusing on providing high-quality beverage and food services in line with established standards. A Barista’s primary responsibility is to take coffee, beverage, and food orders, efficiently process them through the point-of-sale (POS) system, collect payments, and prepare the orders. Beyond the core functions of order taking and preparation, the Barista is involved in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of coffee cart areas and guest tables, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. This includes completing opening and closing duties such as setting up supplies and cleaning equipment. The role demands adherence to company safety, security policies, and compliance with all state and federal regulations governing food and alcoholic beverage service. Employees in this position contribute to HHM Hotels' sustainability efforts by following the EarthView program guidelines, actively practicing safe work habits, wearing protective equipment, and complying with standards such as OSHA and MSDS. The Barista position also involves some financial responsibilities, including obtaining change, counting the register at shift end, reconciling cashier reports, and securing the bank. This role requires flexibility, as the schedule may include holidays, weekends, and standing for extended periods. Physical activities such as lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching are part of the daily requirements. The company supports its Baristas' growth by offering a clear path to advancement into roles such as Head Barista, Host or Hostess, and Guest Service Agent, which provide opportunities for professional development within the hospitality industry.
