The Barista role at OliveFinch Collective is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the General Manager. This position is a Crew Level 3 role with eligibility for tips. The Barista is responsible for creating high-quality coffee and espresso beverages in accordance with OliveFinch’s recipes and build guides, ensuring that each drink meets the brand's quality and consistency standards. This role includes performing all front-of-house (FOH) crew and cashier responsibilities, providing a seamless and welcoming guest experience by greeting customers, bussing tables, running food and beverages, and maintaining an organized, clean cafe environment.

In addition to beverage preparation, the Barista operates and maintains espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment to guarantee optimal quality. The role involves restocking supplies, adhering rigorously to health, safety, and sanitation procedures—including proper milk handling and cleaning of equipment—and answering guest inquiries about menu items. The Barista collaborates closely with both FOH and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow and uphold OliveFinch’s hospitality standards.

Job Duties

  • perform all FOH crew responsibilities including greeting guests, bussing tables, running food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area
  • perform all cashier responsibilities including ringing in orders, processing payments, reconciling cash drawers, and selling gift cards
  • prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, and other drinks according to OliveFinch recipes and build guides
  • operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment to ensure optimal quality and consistency
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, including restocking supplies as needed
  • provide friendly, efficient service to guests and answer questions about menu items
  • follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures, including proper milk handling and equipment cleaning
  • collaborate with FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth service and uphold brand standards
