The role available at The Scarlet is that of a Barista, a key position within the hotel’s vibrant coffee shop. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in customer service or food and beverage preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and health standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a barista or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment
  • Familiarity with various coffee beans and blends helpful
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and techniques
  • Prior cash handling experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages including espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos
  • Engage with customers taking orders and providing recommendations
  • Create latte art and ensure each drink is beautifully presented
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area including coffee machines and equipment
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure quality and freshness of coffee products
  • Upsell additional items such as pastries, snacks, or merchandise
  • Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register accurately
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service ensuring each guest feels welcomed and valued
