The position available is a Coffee Shop Team Member based at 850 76th Street S.W., Byron Center, Michigan 49315. This role primarily involves preparing high-quality coffee shop beverages and food, operating the cash register, and providing courteous and efficient customer service. The position demands attention to detail in handling cash payments, managing food safety and sanitation standards, stocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Candidates will work closely with department leads or managers to ensure adequate stock and smooth operation of the coffee shop. This role requires familiarity with check-stand equipment, coffee shop machinery, and the ability to communicate promotions, loyalty programs, and specials to customers effectively. Team members are also expected to follow all personal protective equipment (PPE), safety, food safety, cleaning procedures, and guest experience guidelines. While primarily focused on the coffee shop, the role may involve assistance in other departments as needed to enhance the overall customer experience. Job Duties
- Prepare coffee shop beverages
- brew, mix and/or blend beverages according to set standards
- Prepare food items according to procedures
- Ensure food and beverages are handled in a safe manner and according to established guidelines
- Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, coupons
- Stock items and rotate coffee items and merchandise displays
- Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
- Understand use of check-stand equipment and coffee shop equipment and its efficient operation
- Notify the department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered
- Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked department
- ensure compliance with company safety and sanitation procedures and standards
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers
- Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
- Follow guest experience guidelines
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
