In addition to beverage preparation, Baristas play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café environment. They ensure that all workspaces, including production areas, storage spaces, restrooms, patios, and parking areas, are spotless, safe, and inviting. Baristas also oversee the proper handling and operation of café equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, and heating units, guaranteeing everything is functioning correctly to deliver consistent product quality.
Accuracy and reliability are key in this role, particularly in processing transactions. Baristas manage all cash handling, register tills, credit card payments, refunds, coupons, and discounts, following strict procedures to ensure security and honesty. They also provide attentive tableside service, offer thoughtful product recommendations, and upsell items to help enhance the overall guest experience.
