The Barista position at Cincinnati Children’s Burnet Campus offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s vibrant Food Services department. This full-time role, with a 40-hour workweek and rotating shifts, plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality customer service and beverage preparation. The role focuses on engaging with customers by greeting them warmly, taking orders accurately, and recommending beverages tailored to their preferences. The barista is also responsible for answering customer inquiries and addressing concerns courteously and promptly, ensuring an exceptional service experience. Collaboration with team members is essential to maintain smooth operations, especially during busy periods, and to participate actively in training sessions and team meetings for continuous skill enhancement. Cleanliness and safety are paramount, with duties including maintaining organized work areas, adhering to health and safety guidelines, and restocking supplies and ingredients regularly. Proficiency in preparing coffee and tea beverages according to Starbucks standards is required, along with the ability to handle coffee machines and related equipment. This role requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods and the capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. The expected starting pay range for this position is $17.83 to $20.99 per hour, with salary potentially varying based on FTE status. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • preferred high school diploma or equivalent
  • may require valid/good-standing drivers license
  • previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
