The position available is designed to be an integral part of the Whole Foods Market retail team, focusing on customer service, stocking, and sanitation duties within the store. The role requires Team Members to maintain a positive company image by delivering courteous, friendly, and efficient service to both customers and fellow Team Members. Responsibilities include weighing, pricing, and packaging customer orders, understanding venue menus, and staying knowledgeable about specials and menu changes to enhance the customer experience. The role emphasizes compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper product rotation, spoilage record keeping, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Team Members are expected to support Whole Foods Market’s core values by promoting national, regional, and store programs and initiatives, modeling suggestive selling techniques, and adhering to cash handling and sanitation procedures. This role also involves performing opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring pricing accuracy, and promptly reporting any safety hazards or violations. This is an hourly role with a wage range of $18.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience, reflecting Whole Foods Market’s commitment to fair compensation. New Team Members who complete their initial 90 days successfully may be eligible for a base rate increase, demonstrating reward for dedication and performance.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • able to stand or walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • able to perform hand use motions including grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • capable of bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • comfortable working in temperatures below freezing, refrigerated, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • able to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Weighs, prices, and packages customer orders
  • understands venue menus and stays abreast of specials and menu changes
  • follows cash handling procedures related to service venues
  • monitors product quality and freshness and ensures proper product rotation
  • completes product spoilage and transfer records as needed
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs promptly
  • maximizes sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • follows and ensures compliance with health, sanitation, and safety procedures
