Job Description
The Hilton President Kansas City, under the ownership and operation of the locally owned Jury Hotel Group, is renowned for its dedication to providing exceptional hospitality and service. This prestigious hotel is committed to making the world a better place through the power of connection, creating welcoming environments where guests feel at home away from home. Situated in a prime location, this hotel seamlessly blends comfort and luxury, inviting guests to relax, recharge, and focus on their priorities. By fostering close relationships with the local community, the Hilton President Kansas City stands as a beacon of quality and warmth within the hospitality industry.
We are currently seeking a motivated and attentive Barista / Coffee Shop Attendant to join our team in a part-time AM position, primarily covering early morning shifts. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where excellent customer service and team collaboration are highly valued. The position involves engaging directly with guests, preparing quality coffee and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming coffee shop area. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the guest experience by delivering prompt and courteous service, ensuring each visitor feels valued and well cared for from the moment they enter.
This role requires a proactive individual who enjoys a hands-on approach and thrives in a team setting. Duties include greeting guests, informing them about daily specials and promotions, accurately taking and fulfilling food and beverage orders, handling payments efficiently, and performing side work such as station setup, condiment replenishment, restocking supply stands, and maintaining cleanliness. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with bussing and resetting tables to support a smooth operational flow during busy periods.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in varying environments are essential as the role includes standing for extended periods, maneuvering in confined spaces, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Moreover, candidates must be capable of operating espresso machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively. The schedule is mostly early mornings starting at 5:30 AM and extending to about lunchtime, including weekends and holidays, with occasional evening shifts as needed to accommodate business demands.
The hourly wage for this position is competitive at $16.00 per hour plus tips, complemented by a $500 bonus awarded after the first 90 days of employment. Beyond compensation, Hilton President Kansas City supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401k program with a competitive company match, travel benefits to Hilton properties worldwide, and the flexible On Demand Pay option that allows employees to access a portion of their wages on their schedule.
As an equal opportunity employer, the Hilton President Kansas City and Jury Hotel Group pride themselves on fostering diversity and inclusivity across the workplace. All qualified applicants are welcomed and encouraged to apply, with accommodations provided during the application and interview process if required. This dedication to equality exemplifies the company’s broader mission to create positive and enriching experiences not only for guests but also for its valued team members.
