Ascent Hospitality is currently seeking a uniquely qualified hospitality professional to join their team as a Barista. This role is critical in contributing to the company’s overall success by delivering legendary customer service to all patrons. The Barista serves as an essential ambassador of the Starbucks Experience, providing exceptional promptness, quality beverages, and products to local customers and hotel guests alike. This position involves maintaining a clean, welcoming, and comfortable store environment, ensuring every visitor’s experience is both enjoyable and memorable.
The Barista is expected to embody and model the core guiding principles of Ascent Hospitality, acting with integrity, honesty, and professionalism at all times. Key job responsibilities include warmly welcoming guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing service needs, and delivering consistent, high-quality beverages and food products according to established recipes and presentation standards. The role also requires adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, maintaining an organized workspace, and managing cash handling duties with accuracy and reliability.
This role demands flexibility and availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. The Barista must maintain a calm demeanor during busy periods and unusual events, ensuring seamless store operations and a positive guest experience. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and the capability to develop strong relationships with both guests and fellow team members.

- must maintain a neat and professional appearance upholding company appearance standards at all times
- must be able to apply commonsense understanding, in carrying out instructions

- Prior food and beverage experience preferred

Job Duties
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, providing eye contact and a warm welcome as they enter the coffee shop area
- anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation
- act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of the company
- maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard
- anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues
- deliver legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer
- discover and respond to customer needs
- follow operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all Team Members during each shift
- maintain a clean and organized workspace so that Team Members can locate resources and product as needed
- provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
- follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
- maintain regular and punctual attendance
