The Barista role at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is critical to delivering this exceptional customer experience. This position is designed for individuals who possess a genuine passion for premium coffee and tea and who are enthusiastic about providing memorable interactions for guests. The Barista serves as a friendly guide through the coffee experience, sharing knowledge about the company’s products and sustainability practices while creating a welcoming atmosphere. The role offers ample opportunity for career growth, with many current General Managers having started their careers as Baristas. The position is hourly, with pay ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 depending on experience and local wage ordinances. Baristas engage directly with customers to ensure satisfaction and contribute to the overall success of the store by maintaining organization and safety standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a customer service or Barista role preferred
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Be a warm host- guide guests through their coffee experience from beginning to end providing exceptional guest service throughout
  • Create coffee moments- share your knowledge, our coffee, and our sustainability practices with guests
  • Be a coffee & tea expert. You bring the passion, we provide the training, and you share it with the guest
  • Generate new guests. Many guests shop online these days
  • however, the store is where we meet many of our guests for the first time
  • Care about safety. Safe, healthy employees and guests are our number one priority
  • Contribute. Take pride in the tidiness of your store, organize stock, innovate new way to do things
  • Take initiative with tasks, ideas and add to the overall success
