The Barista role with Sodexo, specifically at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, is a part-time position with a pay range of $12.00 to $14.50 per hour. This role is vital for creating a welcoming and vibrant customer experience. As a Barista, you will play the role of an artist and a champion of fair-trade, handcrafting quality beverages including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend drinks. You will greet customers, take orders, operate cash registers, and maintain cleaned, gleaming workstations throughout your shift. This role requires a dedication to making customers smile and leaving a positive impact through every interaction. The position demands flexibility in scheduling with varying shifts and open availability preferred.

In addition to crafting beverages and handling sales transactions, the Barista will also be responsible for cleaning coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms, and food preparation zones. Punctuality and regular attendance are essential, along with a commitment to nurturing a safe and healthy working environment. While prior work experience in a similar environment is preferred, it is not mandatory, and some locations may require Starbucks Barista certification.
