Located in the heart of Mid-beach, this newly built art-deco architectural landmark features 287 guestrooms, including 34 suites, with a unique ocean-view arrival experience exclusive to Miami Beach. Within this vibrant environment, Andaz Miami Beach is recruiting Baristas who bring enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for delivering excellent hospitality. The Barista role is integral, involving the preparation and serving of expertly crafted hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty coffees. Promoting a superior guest service experience is essential, requiring attention to detail, customer service excellence, and a strong knowledge or eagerness to learn about coffee and tea. Familiarity with Micros point-of-sale systems, high-volume service experience, and coffee expertise are advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous barista or relevant hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to lift minimum of 20lbs
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety procedures
- Customer service orientation and friendly demeanor
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred but training is provided
- A deep appreciation for coffee and a strong knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in beverage quality and presentation
- Flexibility in working hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks while maintaining consistent taste and presentation standards
- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently handle cash transactions or operate the POS system
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace including coffee preparation areas, equipment, coffee condiment stations, and dining areas
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure safety and well-being of customers and colleagues
- Stay up to date with coffee industry trends including new blends, brewing methods, and flavor profiles and make recommendations to customers
- Assist in restocking inventory, tracking supplies, and placing orders as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive work environment
- Uphold company policies and procedures including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines
- Ensure all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled, dated and responsible for rotating and disposing to maintain quality control
- Portray a positive, friendly and professional attitude at all times, always smiling and greeting guests warmly and genuinely
- Provide prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to guests
- Perform opening side work and set up station
- Attend and participate in training sessions and department meetings
- Listen to guests and anticipate their needs
