This role is offered by a franchisee of Scooter's Coffee, which means that while you are joining the larger Scooter's Coffee family, your direct employer will be the franchisee of the specific location you apply to. Each franchisee has the ability to set employment terms including wages and benefits, which may vary from one location to another.
The Barista role at Scooter's Coffee is designed to create a memorable and positive experience for customers by delivering fast, friendly service and consistently high-quality coffee and related products. The position involves a range of responsibilities that combine customer engagement, operational efficiency, and adherence to company standards, particularly in food safety and sanitation. Baristas are the frontline ambassadors who greet and connect with customers, handle order processing, and ensure that every drink served meets the brand’s recipe and aesthetic guidelines.
In addition to making and serving beverages, the Barista role includes responsibilities such as managing the cash drawer with accuracy and following all established cash handling procedures, restocking workstations and supplies to optimize workflow, and maintaining cleanliness in all areas accessible to both coworkers and customers. Emphasis is placed on speedy service without compromising the quality of the drinks or customer interactions, including identifying drinks upon delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience is an asset
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude with a passion for coffee and customer service
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Availability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Greet and connect with each customer
- Welcome questions and seek opportunities to educate on products
- Suggestively sell gift cards, complementary/additional products, and merchandise
- Solicit order, enter sale, and process payment in a timely and friendly manner
- Manage cash drawer following established cash handling procedures
- Serve all customer orders according to recipe and aesthetic guidelines
- Deliver products within established speed of service guidelines and identify drink upon delivery
- Operate and maintain cleanliness of all store equipment
- Optimize workflow efficiency by restocking workstations, food, supplies, and merchandise
- Maintain cleanliness of coworker and customer areas
- Demonstrate genuine appreciation to each customer
