The role of the Beverage Service Associate at Blackstone Consulting, Inc. is an integral position responsible for preparing and serving hand-crafted, quality beverages that meet customer specifications. The Beverage Service Associate operates cash registers and credit card machines, ensuring accurate financial transactions and maintaining cash-handling procedures. The position emphasizes speedy and friendly delivery of beverages, efficient order taking, and maintaining an inviting and sanitary beverage service area. Duties include greeting customers, mixing and serving hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend drinks, as well as occasionally selling food items. The associate is expected to arrange beverage supplies attractively, clean and maintain coffee machines and preparation areas, and participate in safety and in-service training sessions. Compliance with all company and food safety regulations, including HACCP policies, is mandatory. This role also involves standing and moving within the kitchen and dining facility for extended periods, managing workloads fairly and consistently, and communicating effectively both verbally and in writing. Ideal candidates will have 6 months to 1 year of previous related work experience, good reading and writing abilities, solid work ethics, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., phone)
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private)
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Must be willing to participate in the company's pre-employment screening process, including background investigation if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • 6 months to 1 year previous work experience in a directly related field or similar duties
  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, employees and client representatives
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
  • Ability to be an effective team member
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances

Job Duties

  • Greets customers, take orders, mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc. while considering customer specifications
  • Works to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items
  • Arranges coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays
  • Maintains bar/cart area in a neat and sanitary manner
  • Often cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas
  • Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register and follows all cash-handling procedures as required
  • May sell food items
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training
  • Complies with all Blackstone Consulting, Inc. HACCP policies and procedures
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
  • Attends training programs as designated
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
