The role of Barista at Grand Beach Hotel is both dynamic and essential in ensuring the highest quality of service to guests in the food and beverage department. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, including coffee and alcoholic drinks, in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This position demands a comprehensive working knowledge of coffee service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes, garnishes, and point of sale systems. In addition, the Barista will take guest orders, suggestively sell beverages and menu items, collect payments, and assist with maintaining a clean and organized service area.
This role includes responsibilities like welcoming guests according to company standards, answering guest questions, making menu recommendations, and carefully verifying guest identification when serving alcoholic beverages. The Barista must also have the physical ability to manage tasks such as removing dirty glasses and dishes and lifting/moving bus tubs up to 25 pounds. The position requires someone who is personable, adaptable, and demonstrates excellent guest relations skills, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule including late hours, weekends, and holidays. The Barista is expected to maintain behavior aligned with the hotel’s policies on workplace conduct, including sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies. This role reports directly to management and requires adherence to strict uniform, grooming, and appearance standards to reflect the hotel’s professionalism.
This is a pivotal front-line role that significantly contributes to the overall guest experience at Grand Beach Hotel. The Barista will be an ambassador of the hotel’s brand, ensuring every guest interaction is pleasant and positively memorable. Enrolled employees will be required to complete a New Hire Training Checklist within the first 30 days to demonstrate full competency in all required tasks.
