Job Requirements

  • Passion for people, place and culture
  • Minimum one year experience as a barista
  • Valid WA Food Worker Card
  • Mandatory alcohol server training permit
  • Ability to meet local age requirements for alcohol service
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the majority of shifts
  • Fine motor coordination for beverage preparation and presentation
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to safely handle hot fluids and lighted candles
  • Excellent sight and balance for navigating varied floor surfaces

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience as a barista in a free-standing or hotel café or coffee shop
  • Valid WA Food Worker Card
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training Permit
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
  • Strong knowledge of coffee drinks and beverage preparation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Understanding of food safety and service standards

Job Duties

  • Uphold and model the companys principles of people, place and character, driving collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
  • Own all aspects of a guests café experience from beginning to end by extending a friendly greeting in an inviting environment, ensuring proper steps of service to create exceptional guest experiences
  • Participating in daily lineups and staff meetings to develop ideas and objectives with the service team while providing constructive feedback
  • Maintain working knowledge of menus, menu ingredients and daily availability
  • Serve alcohol safely, responsibly, and legally
  • Accurately account for all monetary transactions during shifts
  • Share extensive knowledge of coffee with guests to enhance their experience and offer relevant additions
  • Keep workstation clean and organized with respect for guests, peers, and equipment
  • Demonstrate urgency for guest requests
  • Improve knowledge of coffee and beverage terms through continuous study
  • Observe physical facilities and report challenges promptly
  • Communicate with food and beverage and culinary teams to ensure timely food delivery
  • Assist in other food and beverage department areas as needed
