Job Duties

  • Serve food course and alcoholic beverages to the guest
  • suggestively sell beverages and menu items
  • take orders
  • answer guest questions
  • make recommendations
  • up-sell liquors
  • welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • communicate drink orders to the bar through the point of sales system
  • request identification from any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age
  • remove dirty glasses and dishes, including lifting or moving of bus tubs up to 25lbs
  • keep tables clean at all times
  • maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at Grand Beach Hotel
  • maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the team member handbook
  • report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company's personal appearance standards
  • apply excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests
  • observe hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call-handling procedures
  • perform special projects and duties as assigned
  • promote and apply teamwork skills at all times
  • be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow team members
  • execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  • comply with required safety regulations and procedures
  • attend appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
  • maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  • comply with hotel standards, policies, and rules
  • recycle whenever possible
  • remain current with hotel information and changes
