The Barista position at Concord Hospitality is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and customer-focused individual who loves coffee and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The barista will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the coffee shop area, including wiping up spills, cleaning appliances and counter spaces, managing trash disposal, and stocking shelves with essential items. A critical aspect of the role includes accurately handling monetary transactions, proactively counting cash before and after shifts to avoid discrepancies, and managing various payment methods such as cash, checks, credit, and debit cards. Being personable and able to engage with customers warmly is essential, as the role involves greeting guests, resolving complaints or escalating them to management, and effectively communicating product and payment options.
The ideal candidate will have prior barista or coffee shop experience, preferably around two years, and a good understanding of different coffee brewing techniques and espresso machines. They should possess strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to handle diverse clientele professionally and courteously. The position demands multitasking abilities, maintaining composure during busy periods, and a positive attitude infused with enthusiasm for coffee and hospitality. In addition to computer literacy for transaction recording, the barista is expected to uphold high standards of integrity, honesty, and accountability in their duties. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
