Job Requirements
- One year of food service experience
- FHP ANSI approved or ServSafe certification required
- Ability to follow healthcare food safety guidelines
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene to prevent contamination
- Ability to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely
- Ability to maintain food labeling and storage standards
- Ability to work flexible hours and perform various duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- One year of food service experience
- Knowledge of healthcare foodservice industry standards and food safety regulations
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and menu requirements
- Familiarity with preventing food cross-contamination
- Basic food preparation skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Strong customer service orientation
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- FHP ANSI approved or ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes
- Avoids cross-contamination of foods and adheres to personal hygiene requirements
- Maintains proper labeling of food products and ensures storage of food equipment and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines
- Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements using required kitchen utensils and equipment
- Maintains knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to food allergy questions or requests
- Follows organizational standards and guidelines for a high quality patient and customer experience
- Ensures proper meal portioning and an aesthetically pleasing presentation
- May be responsible for coffee shop serving and stocking, cashiering, serving in the retail area, assembling, delivering and retrieving patient trays, performing cold food prep, performing utility assignments such as dishwashing and equipment maintenance, performing catering functions and delivering or picking up catered food, supporting inventory maintenance duties, performing general cleaning of equipment and work areas such as mopping, sweeping, and emptying trash cans
