Job Description

167 Hospitality Group is a dynamic, fast-paced collection of restaurants located in Charleston, South Carolina. The group operates several popular dining venues including 167 Raw Oyster Bar, 167 Sushi Bar, and Bar167. Known for their commitment to fresh seafood and exceptional customer service, these establishments have become well-loved corners of the Charleston dining scene. Each restaurant prides itself on a vibrant atmosphere where guests enjoy not only high-quality cuisine but also a welcoming and attentive service team. The group offers a supportive and team-oriented work culture, emphasizing punctuality, professionalism, and a positive workplace environment. Both part-time and full-time employment options are available, designed to accommodate various schedules and lifestyles of the team members.

The Server Assistant role at 167 Hospitality Group is an essential support position within the team, crucial for ensuring a seamless guest experience across all three restaurant venues. Server Assistants contribute to the smooth operation of the bar areas, dining rooms, and outdoor spaces by providing timely assistance with food delivery, table resetting, and maintaining a clean environment. Individuals in this role are responsible for running food and delivering plates to guests while being able to describe dishes to enhance guests’ dining experiences. Additional responsibilities include filling ice trays and buckets, resetting tables promptly, attending to trash and bus buckets, and ensuring cleanliness in restrooms. This role demands a dependable and hardworking professional who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant setting and demonstrates excellent communication skills, good judgment, and problem-solving abilities.

Candidates for the Server Assistant position should possess a positive attitude and be ready to take initiative in their daily activities. The job requires individuals who display strong teamwork capabilities and who can manage tasks efficiently while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor. Previous experience in the restaurant industry is a plus but not mandatory, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. Employees should be prepared to work during peak hours, especially with a focus on availability between November 21 and January 4, 2025, to accommodate the busy holiday season.

Working hours are scheduled with server assistant shifts for lunch from 10am to 4:30pm or 12pm to 6pm, and dinner shifts from 4pm to 11pm. The workweek covers Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off and closures on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, offering a balance between work and personal time. Compensation for server assistants includes an hourly wage plus a share of the support staff tip pool, with expected gross hourly income ranging from $20 to $27 depending on tips. This position offers great opportunities for growth, team collaboration, and gaining valuable hospitality experience in a vibrant coastal city setting.
