The Complex is a renowned live music venue located in Downtown Salt Lake City, established in 2010. Over the years, it has become a premier destination for music lovers, hosting some of the biggest and most diverse acts in the world, including internationally acclaimed artists like Billie Eilish, Billy Idol, Slayer, Travis Scott, and Vampire Weekend. The Complex consists of five separate venues, offering a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for live music events. These venues include Rockwell, The Grand, Vertigo, and Papa Wolf's as indoor venues, alongside The Lot, an outdoor venue. This variety allows the venue to accommodate a wide range of music genres and event sizes, ensuring a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere for every performance.

The Barback role at The Complex is a vital position that supports the bartending team and contributes to the smooth operation of the venue’s service areas. This position involves maintaining inventory, transporting stock, and ensuring that all bar areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked to meet the needs of both staff and guests. The Barback assists with opening and closing duties, including restocking garnishes, straws, napkins, and ensuring an adequate supply of ice, liquor, wine, and beer. Additionally, the Barback is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of workstations and guest service areas, checking equipment functionality such as taps and changing out kegs, and helping to reorder supplies as necessary.

This role demands a proactive and efficient approach, as well as excellent guest service skills and the ability to maintain a positive demeanor. Job Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid alcohol training meeting Utah requirements
  • Utah food handler’s card preferred
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Requires constant standing and walking

Job Duties

  • Assists with opening and closing duties such as restocking the bar with garnishes straws and napkins ensuring that bartenders have clean towels glassware etc
  • Delivers product and uses transfer sheets to maintain inventory integrity
  • Cleans sanitizes and maintains appearance of workstations and guest service areas
  • Ensures bar is well-stocked with ice liquor wine and beer
  • Checks taps and appliances to ensure that they are working properly and changing out kegs
  • Keeps the bar clean by wiping down surfaces sweeping and mopping removing soiled glassware scrubbing coolers and storage areas and emptying trash receptacles
  • Maintains excellent guest service and a positive demeanor towards guests customers clients co-workers etc
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
