The Barback ("Ayudante de Barra") role at Evans Hotels is pivotal in supporting bartenders to ensure smooth and efficient bar service, which directly impacts the overall guest experience. This position involves preparing the bar area, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness so that bartenders can focus on crafting exceptional drinks and providing friendly service. Job Requirements

  • At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire
  • RBS certification required
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training
  • Must be knowledgeable about brands of liquor and spirits
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude
  • Ability to work effectively under stress or challenges
  • Ability to slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different functions
  • Previous similar position in a hotel or similar business entity preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist bartender in the set up of bar area
  • Ensure that sufficient equipment is on hand so that the area can be neatly maintained
  • Be knowledgeable of brands of liquor and spirits available in the bar
  • Ensure that the bar/lounge is stocked and re-stocked with clean and sanitized glassware, utensils and all other related supplies
  • Maintain clean and organized bar pantries, work areas, and tables
  • Be responsible for the safe, accurate and temperature-controlled storage of all products, supplies and sundries
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Check in with bartender for instructions regarding the function, type of function, number of people, etc.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team
