Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • ability to work flexible and long hours
  • ability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally and 20 to 50 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
  • ability to stand during entire shifts
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • friendly and courteous demeanor

Job Duties

  • Effectively communicate with employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • comply with hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving challenges
  • cross-train in other hotel-related areas
  • maintain confidentiality of information
  • anticipate guest or operational needs and show initiative
  • perform assigned duties such as receiving all liquor, beer, and wine from storeroom
  • maintain cleanliness of the bar, refrigerators, and service areas
  • replenish liquor, beer, and wine during shifts
  • be familiar with beverage and cocktail mixing standards
  • assist in opening and closing side-work
  • assist in maintaining bar or lounge cleanliness and tidiness
  • assist with maintaining beverage cost
  • follow procedures for serving alcohol responsibly
  • retrieve food items from the kitchen and deliver to guests
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
  • maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
