This seasonal position, with an expected start date in April 2026 and an anticipated end date in October 2026, seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Barback to enhance the operational flow within the bar areas of the casino. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and stocking of bar supplies, ensuring an impeccable service environment for both servers and guests. As a Barback, you will be responsible for supporting bartenders and servers by replenishing items such as ice, cups, beverages, and condiments, as well as keeping all bar-related equipment sanitized and ready for use throughout your shift. Ideal candidates will hold a County of San Diego Food Handler Card and CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate the physical ability to perform demanding tasks that include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and working efficiently in a fast-paced, potentially smoky environment. Experience in bussing, bar or grill service, or guest relations is advantageous but not mandatory. Individuals should be at least 21 years of age to ensure compliance with legal alcohol service standards.

Job Duties
- Ensures safe and sanitary bar areas by cleaning bar and counter surfaces, emptying ashtrays, cleaning cups, glasses and utensils, sweeping floors, transporting bus tubs to the dishwashing station, and disposing of trash as needed
- Ensures bar area is stocked and clean by placing delivered water, bar supplies, ice, cups, glasses and condiments in the appropriate areas of the bar, chopping and slicing garnishes, and cleaning coffee machines, soda dispensers, beer dispensers, ice bins, sinks, dishwasher, shelves and counters according to established procedures
- Provides guests with service by acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the bar, assisting the bartender with taking beverage orders, delivering requested beverages, and responding to guest requests
- Promotes guest relations by responding to guest requests, offering up-to-date information regarding sports events, promotional contests and giveaways, providing requested assistance and product knowledge, and treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Ensures responsible alcohol beverage service policies are followed by asking for proper identification from guests that appear to be under the age of 30, monitoring alcohol consumption, ensuring guests do not become intoxicated following established procedures, stopping alcohol service at the designated time, and clearing the room of all alcoholic containers, glasses and bottles for each venue at the time specified
