The position being offered is part-time and entails becoming an integral member of the casino’s hospitality team, focusing on delivering fast, friendly, and professional service to guests, beverage servers, and bartenders. The role requires monitoring guest alcohol consumption and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines while promoting casino events and exemplifying goodwill at all customer and public relation functions. The job responsibilities include maintaining bar supplies and equipment, replenishing stock, proper handling and storage of liquors, fruits, glassware, and other sundries in adherence to safety procedures. Physical tasks such as replacing beer kegs, slicing fruits, and managing ice bins are common. The role also involves cleaning and sanitizing bar areas and equipment, ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting workspace that upholds health and safety standards. Candidates must be physically capable of handling up to 25 pounds in weight and perform various motions like bending, stooping, and balancing. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bar experience preferred
  • Must successfully complete Serv Safe training certification course
  • Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Available to work required schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
  • Able to work in constricting areas
  • Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
  • Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded and noisy environment
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs, and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

Job Duties

  • Provides fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers and bartenders
  • Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
  • Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions
  • Promotes casino events and programs
  • Provides personalized service and uses guest name
  • Resolves service problems according to guidelines
  • Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, beverage supervisors, and casino supervisors
  • Maintains par levels of operating supplies and equipment for each bar obtaining replacement stock from warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure
  • Places liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies and sundries in their designated places following established storage guidelines and safety procedures
  • Replaces empty draught beer kegs as may be required
  • Slices and pits fruit, and fills ice bins with crushed or cubed ice from designated ice machines
  • Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
  • Removes and properly disposes of all debris accumulated at the bar in accordance with department procedures
  • Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station
  • Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards
