Job Description

We are currently seeking energetic and reliable Barbacks to join our teams at multiple locations within Benchmark International Arena. This role is an integral part of our bar operations, ensuring that our beverage service runs smoothly and efficiently during events, which is vital to creating an unforgettable fan experience. Barbacks play a critical behind-the-scenes role by maintaining well-stocked and organized bar areas, assisting bartenders promptly and proactively, and upholding stringent cleanliness and service standards.

This position requires individuals who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, possess a team-first attitude, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Barbacks are essential to supporting the front-of-house team by managing the physical aspects of bar service, including the stocking of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, handling kegs, maintaining icing wells, and ensuring that all back-of-bar areas are clean and safe prior to and throughout events. Additionally, the role involves recognizing and communicating with bartenders about guests who may be visibly intoxicated, thus contributing to a safe atmosphere for all attendees.

Barbacks at OVG are compensated at an hourly rate of $13.25 to $13.75 and are eligible to earn tips, making this role both rewarding and financially beneficial. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to work in a team-oriented fast-paced event-driven environment
Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations
Ability to communicate in a clear business-like and respectful manner
Able to stand and walk for extended periods during events
Able to reach with hands and arms sit walk stoop kneel and crouch
Frequently required to lift heavy objects

Job Qualifications

Ability to work in a team-oriented fast-paced event-driven environment
Ability to communicate with employees co-workers management staff and guests in a clear business-like and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations
Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to product inventory
Experience working in a fast-paced high-volume bar capacity is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Able to stand and walk for extended periods during events
Able to reach with hands and arms sit walk stoop kneel and crouch
The employee is frequently required to lift heavy objects

Job Duties

Responsible for stocking products for the bar including nonalcoholic beverages alcoholic beverages icing wells sweeping and mopping the bar collecting empty liquor bottles moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs
drafting beer and pouring wine for guest orders running supplies for bartenders back up fruit napkins cups utensils and stirrers
Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of the event
maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures including mopping floors cleaning and stacking floor mats emptying and relining trash cans and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter
responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to make bartenders aware of such individuals
maintains sanitation health and safety standards in work areas
show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
other duties as necessary as directed by the assigned location supervisors and managers
