Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous barback or related food and beverage experience preferred
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass background and drug screening
Job Qualifications
- Hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business
- Minimum of relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel strongly preferred
- Ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure
- Proven ability to engage guests at all levels
- Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging, and personalized service
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Computer literacy including payroll systems, Micros, POS systems
- Serve Safe certified
- Unexpired TIPs required
Job Duties
- Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards
- Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards
- Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections
- Must have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages
- Retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
- Perform all banquet side work as assigned by management including cleaning of bar and beverage equipment
- cleaning of portable bars and back bars, walls, and carpets surrounding assigned work area
- Ensure positive guest service and respond positively to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
- Assist in controlling food and beverage quantities by avoiding over/under preparing
- Attend all required department trainings and meetings
- Perform any other duties required by leadership
