The Barback role at Matchbox is a vital support position fundamental to the smooth operation of the bar area. This role requires a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, highly mobile environment and is passionate about supporting bartenders to ensure high-quality service. Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels by replenishing drinks, mixers, and supplies; preparing garnishes; setting up stations before opening; and supporting bartenders during peak business hours by providing necessary ingredients and assistance with drink preparation. The Barback also manages cleaning duties such as washing glassware and utensils, maintaining and reporting issues with bar equipment, and keeping the bar area clean and organized throughout the shift. This role demands energy, stamina, and the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and maneuver stairs as needed.
