The Barback role at LOCAL Public Eatery is integral to the seamless operation of the bar and overall guest satisfaction. As a vital member of the bar team, the Barback supports bartenders by anticipating their needs and maintaining an efficient service flow. This position demands agility, proactive problem-solving, and a strong team mindset. Being constantly on the move, the Barback is responsible for prepping bar ingredients, polishing glassware, tapping kegs, and restocking throughout service. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness of the bar and restaurant, resetting the bar top to standard expectations, and ensuring guest beverages are monitored and delivered promptly. Beyond the physical tasks, the Barback embodies the restaurant's values by connecting genuinely with guests, turning first-time visitors into regulars through memorable service and friendliness. Job Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant
  • Ability to connect with others
  • Ability to turn guests into regulars through exceptional service
  • Desire for continuous growth and learning
  • Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and Alcohol Server permits
  • Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant
  • Ability to connect with others and work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for hospitality industry and guest experience
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a dynamic environment
  • Valid local and/or state Food Handler and Alcohol Server permits, or ability to obtain them
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive manual tasks and stand for prolonged periods
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement

Job Duties

  • Provide guests with friendly and attentive service throughout their dining experience
  • Exude professionalism, friendliness and fun towards guests and partners alike
  • Assist bartenders in delivering exceptional service and a pristine environment
  • Clear and reset bar top to the standard expectations
  • Monitor and assist with the delivery of guest beverages
  • Polish glassware
  • Prep bar ingredients and juices
  • Tap kegs
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant by bussing bar top of glassware, dishes, and cutlery
  • Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success
  • Stock, clean, and organize bar area and sections
  • Re-stock bar throughout service
  • Follow all food and alcohol service and handling safety precautions and procedures
